☕ Top Three Hidden Cafés in Istanbul

Istanbul is full of surprises, and some of my favourite discoveries are its hidden cafés — the kind of spots only locals know about. After spending time exploring both sides of the city, I’ve narrowed it down to three must-visit gems:

Pierre Loti 🛶
This one’s truly unique. The journey is part of the experience — a gondola ride takes you up the hill, and the café itself sits above a peaceful cemetery, offering one of the best panoramic views of Istanbul. Sip a Turkish tea and try their rice pudding while soaking in the scenery. Trust me, it’s worth every minute! 😍

Chado – Way of Tea 🍵
Tucked away on the European side, Chado is a hidden tea house that feels like a little sanctuary. You can sample teas from around the world, and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable, happy to guide you through flavours and brewing traditions. Perfect for a slow, mindful afternoon.

Nevmekan Sahil 📚
Head to the Asian side, and you’ll find this café inside a library — a favourite among locals. The coffee is rich, the food delicious, and the atmosphere is unbeatable. It’s a spot where you can truly soak in daily Istanbul life while enjoying something special from the menu.
