Somewhere Between Coffees, Lions, and Deadlines

The time is 1:36 am. I just finished a business meeting. Closing my computer down it hit me. I’m living the absolute dream of my 8-year-old little self. I’m sitting on a bed, which happens to be in the middle of a banana farm in Tanzania. And I’m already thinking about tomorrow, and how much work will I need to get done, because I likely won’t have access to internet in the next four days…

I slowly sipped away five coffees, but finished with the tour brochure for the group adventure I’m organizing to a destination which has been sitting on the very top of my bucket list for the last seven years…

While I was repacking my bag yet again, for the hundredth time since last year. Even though it was 6 am, I was beyond excited, a very special car was waiting for us…

I blinked twice, and found myself at the entrance of Tarangire National Park. What happened in the next five hours is indescribable with words. Imagine that one incredibly famous cartoon movie – but it’s real life, and playing in front of you. While you’re standing in a jeep with no roof, and just staring, your eyes watery, and your heart full.

And then suddenly a giraffe runs in front of the jeep, just a couple meters from you. Just a minute later, you spot a troop of baboons, with their infants clutching onto their mothers.

But the tales of Tanzania are never ending, suddenly, a herd of elephants appear. And you are completely lost for words as these giant yet elegant creatures walk in front of you…

Followed by a dazzle of zebras, a gang of meerkats, a committee of vultures, implausibility of wildebeest, a tower of giraffes, and finally, a pride of lions – and this is the point where you are in complete disbelief and about to question everything in this life…

(Yes, I did wait for my whole life to use these expressions, and I’m happy to say, it was so worth it).

Oh, and the dream isn’t over, I’ll be spending the next three days in the wilderness of Tanzania, discovering even more unbelievable things…
