Slovakia is one of Europe’s most underrated destinations for nature lovers—especially if hiking is your idea of a perfect day. One of our all-time favourite hikes is Suchá Belá in Slovak Paradise National Park. This trail is pure adventure: wooden ladders, narrow canyons, waterfalls, and dramatic rock formations along the way. It’s dynamic, exciting, and feels like something straight out of an adventure film—challenging in the best possible way, and absolutely worth every step.
That said, Slovakia isn’t always the easiest country to navigate when it comes to hiking. Many of its most beautiful trails aren’t heavily advertised, signage can be inconsistent, and the best routes often require a bit of local insight. Planning ahead makes all the difference. And if adrenaline-packed trails aren’t your thing, Slovakia also delivers on gentler hikes—peaceful forest paths, wide valleys, and viewpoints that reward you with sweeping mountain scenery.
